As more people are moving towards cloud storage to store their docs or files. So USB drives are becoming less in use these days. It is fortunate as USB drives allow you to store the data locally and you don’t need any active internet connection. So to skip the needs of the internet connection, Kingston announced datatraveler ultimate GT 2TB pocket flash drive at CES 2017.

This product announcement was to excite used and drive all the users to store data locally. If you want to store some data in the cloud, then you need an active internet connection. But if you store your data locally in USB flash drive then there is no need of internet connection.
The beast will allow you to store all sorts of data, including a 4K video with the time length of 70hrs on a single 2TB USB flash drive.
DataTraveler Ultimate GT offers superior quality in a high-end design as it is made of a zinc alloy metal casing for shock resistance. Its compact size gives the tech enthusiast or professional user an easily portable solution to store and transfer their high capacity files”.

Unfortunately, it will come with USB type A and not the newer Type C connector. This is fine, but all the new machine like the MacBook pro owners will have to use a dongle. It will not be as fast comparing USB Type3.1 which is of generation 2.
Kingston will start selling DataTraveller Ultimate GT in both capacities namely, 1TB and 2TB. But the price is still unknown to us. Kingston will start shipping DataTraveller Ultimate GT next month.
